COFFEE KULTURE

It is now time to get to a different culinary destination: North Jakarta! It's a mini-oasis near the hip, new, brimming shopping mall, the Baywalk! Here's the cute Coffee Kulture at Muara Karang everyone!!

By having a glance on the interior, you'd instantly realize the overall concept of this place: homey! Placing comfort above all else, this small shop is so suitable if you'd like to study or having a catch-up session with some friends!

They have a really good resemblance of a cozy study room and a family room, that's why this place is comfortable! Not too bright in lighting, so you have a mild and cool atmosphere to just relax or concentrate on your works.

You'd have already realized by this point that the place has such unique and sweet taste in contemporary and youthful artworks! As a student, you'd most likely be drawn in these cute concept of a place.

CEREAL OREO CHEESECAKE IDR 40K
My favorite drink in this place! Although the cheesecake taste was almost nowhere to be found, it still make one yummy drink. The smooth cheesecake combined with blended Oreo then topped with cereals, good texture varieties! I also loved it because it's super sweet.

HOT MATCHA LATTE IDR 32K

Gotta love their playful idea of latte art! The little green alien from Toy's Story was drawn so perfectly and it's super cute!!! I was so sad to have the first sip as I ruined the artwork :( The taste is just like any other good green tea lattes you'd find in Starbucks or other international coffee shops, which sets a quite high standard for such a place!

BANANA SPRING ROLL IDR 20K
Banana wrapped in spring roll skin and fried with added chocolate sauce and grated cheese. It's a traditional Indonesian snack if you happen to wonder about what it originated from. Crispy, sweet, and salty goodness in one bite. Scrumptious!

HAM SUI KOK IDR 16,8K
This snack, despite its cute presentation of looking much like a carrot, just didn't work so well to me. It's not bad actually, might just be a difference in taste, but the ingredient wasn't really to my liking. It taste like sweet potato and inside it is ebi.

VOLCANO CASSAVA IDR 25K
Yet another classic traditional Indonesian snack: deep fried cassava with grated cheddar cheese! This dish might look simple to your sight, but let me tell you, once you get a bite, you'll get addicted! The savory, salty taste of cassava, cheese, and salt in crispy goodness gives you a strong urge to bite, chew, and finish everything in one go. They even made it into something more unique, with a volcano-like structure, they add sliced chili for little kick of spiciness to live up to it's name. Wicked!

SPAGHETTI BALACAN IDR 55K
Now let's talk about unique! I think they might call this their own signature since I've never seen spaghetti in balacan sauce before. Ever! Served with prawns, the taste was so..unique! I personally liked the taste despite some of my friends who came with me didn't really like it. If you're up for a taste adventure, go for this one! It's the perfect combination of Italian and Indonesian cuisine!

STEAK SANDWICH IDR 65K

It's a classic steak sandwich. Putting sliced beef steak, mushroom, and cheese sauce (sometimes with caramelized onion) and sandwiched in a baguette type of bread!
From here on out you can just imagine its taste: crispy on the outside as it gets chewy, and then juicy tenderness from the cheese-simmered beef steak. Wonderful!

CLASSIC CHOCOLATE (HOT) IDR 30K
Well, nothing much to comment on this one, since this is just a classic hot chocolate. Still, a classic has its own reason to be one: it's so good that it goes for generations! But if you were seriously asking, this is a good cup of hot chocolate. Rich in texture, creamy, and sweet.

PIGGY PAO IDR 17,8K
Now for our favorite!! This is a timeless classic of dimsum pick as it's nothing but the legenDARY salted egg buns! If you've never tried a salted egg bun before, you gotta try one. I'm serious about this. It's more or less a melted butter, condensed milk, and salted egg yolk: golden in color, hot, with a combination of sweet and salty at the same time. Rich! This is actually the main reason we came here, since we saw this while browsing through instagram. It was unbelievably cute AND it's a salted egg yolk pao! When we came, the pao was not ready yet, so we had to wait like half an hour or more, but it was definitely worth the wait!

Yummy and comfy! That's what comes in mind when we talk about this place! Our only concern about this place was the small parking lot and congested traffic on peak hours, but that's where we exactly need an oasis, isn't it?
